Petre Abraham Smeu

Petre Abraham Smeu, son of artist parents (his mother a violinist and his father a theater director), began learning the violin at the age of four under the guidance of Grigori Nedobora.
He has participated in numerous violin concerts in various countries such as Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Romania, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Smeu has attended masterclasses with international figures such as Marco Rizzi, Lev Chistyakov, Frank Peter Zimmermann, Alena Baeva and Tomasz Tomaszevski.
He has won first prizes in Königin Sophie Charlotte (Germany, 2023) and Cidade de Vigo (Spain, 2021) among other competitions. At the age of 12, he performed his first concert as a soloist, accompanied by the 430 Orquesta de Vigo. Highlights include solo concerts with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia and Orquesta Clásica de Vigo. Conductors he has collaborated with include Víctor Pablo Pérez and Maximino Zumalave.
He has been concertmaster at the Orquesta Joven Sinfónica de Galicia, and part of Les Dissonances. Smeu is a member of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia. He has studied at the HfM Saar with David Grimal and with Petru Munteanu in Augsburg, and he is studying currently with Baiba Skride at the Leopold Mozart College of Music.
