Cansu Şanlıdağ

Cansu Şanlıdağ is an artist whose passion shines through with a vibrant and warm personality. Her commitment to sharing her art naturally led her towards the chamber music repertoire, with a particular focus on Lieder, a realm that allows her to merge her passion for literature and the arts. Much like her personality, her sound is richly profound, conveying intense emotions to her audience.

This young talent embarked on her artistic journey at the age of seven by joining the Dokuz Eylul Conservatory in Izmir. After years of study under several prominent Turkish masters, she continued her education at the Royal Conservatory of Mons and the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, where she had the opportunity to study under the guidance of Dalia Ouziel and Aleksandar Madzar. Subsequently, she was admitted to a Postgraduate program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, joining Markus Hadulla's class.

As a chamber musician, Cansu Şanlıdağ has had the privilege of performing in prestigious venues across Europe, including cities such as Brussels, Florence, Paris, and Vienna. She maintains a significant musical collaboration with French violinist Philippe Graffin, with whom she has undertaken a major recording and performance project of unpublished pieces by Ysaÿe, thereby enriching the musical repertoire.

Şanlıdağ has had the privilege of closely collaborating with distinguished artists such as Michel Beroff, Julius Drake, Anne Sophie von Otter, and Dietrich Henschel, Anne Gastinel, Olsi Leka, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Daniel Blumenthal and Philippe Graffin. In these interactions, she shared her musical experiences and contributed to inspiring the next generation of musicians. Furthermore, she has provided musical support for competitions such as the International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen, the International Buchet Competition, the Summer Music Academy Forte, the Music Academy Forte Competition, International Breughel Competition and the Grumiaux Competition, demonstrating her commitment to musical excellence through renowned competitions.

In addition to her role in chamber music, Cansu Sanlidag is also a faculty member at Near East University Cyprus. She is currently collaborating with Pavane Records on a solo CD, scheduled for release in 2024-2025. This album will introduce first world recordings of compositions by Philipp Scharwenka, highlighting Sanlidag's passion for exploring lesser-known musicians.
