Kiu Yin Cheung

Cheung Kiu Yin (Kian), a 9-year-old boy who has strong passion in music began his violin studies at the age of 4 (with Calvin Wong of Yip's Children's Choral and Performing Arts Centre.)

Over the past years, he has won different violin competitions.

At the age of 6, Kian won the gold medal in the preliminary round (Hong Kong) and the 3rd prize in the final round (in Japan) of the Osaka International Music Competition Group B (6-9 years old). He was also the 1st prize winner for the 13th China Youth Arts Festival-National Selection-Violin Solo.

In the year of 2018 and 2019, he was the champion in the 6th and 7th Hong Kong International Youth Performing Arts Festival-Violin Open for Age Group A respectively. In the year of 2019, he got the 1st prize in the Hong Kong Joint School Music Competition - Violin Open Group. He also obtained 1st prize in the violin duet junior group and 2nd prize in violin solo in the 71st Hong Kong School Music Festival in 2019. In the year of 2020, he was the 1st runner-up in the Strings Group of Tokyo International Youth Music Competition 2020 (under 13 years old).
