Florence Lau

Florence Lau studies violin with Aimée Kreston at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music and previously studied with Megan Shung. She has attended programs including the Heifetz International Music Institute, Colburn School Sounding Point Academy, and Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival.

Florence is a Gold Medalist at the Southern California Junior Bach Festival, a first-prize winner of the Iba–Tenorio Competition, and a second-prize winner of the Milan International String Competition. She also received an Honorable Mention at the Parness Concerto Competition.

She has performed in masterclasses with Almita Vamos, Lina Bahn, Robert Lipsett, Ayano Ninomiya, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, and Ken Aiso. In addition to music, Florence enjoys competitive mathematics and swimming.
