Yeuk Fu Kate Lai

Kate Lai began playing the violin at the age of 4 and studied for four years at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts’ Junior Music Programme with Gui Li. Music has always played an important role in her life and she is working towards becoming a professional violinist. Recent concerto successes included 1st places in the Hong Kong Schools’ Music Festival (Violin Concerto - 19 and under), the North London Festival of Music, Speech, & Drama (Violin 11-12), and the Ealing Music Festival (Violin/Viola Concerto - 14 and under). She also won a special prize at the Anton Rubinstein International Violin Competition. Since November 2023, she has been a student of Itamar Rashkovsky at the Junior Guildhall School of Music & Drama. In 2025, Kate won the Grand Prize at the Brentwood International Music Competition receiving a fully scholarship to study at Brentwood School on its Specialist Music Programme.
